Finance Assistant

Position Summary:
The Finance Assistant plays a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy, timeliness, and
consistency of accounts payable and receivable. This individual must possess high
integrity and a strong commitment to excellence. The ideal candidate is task-oriented,
enjoys critical thinking, and excels in problem-solving.

Principal Responsibilities:
  • Ensure all payables have signed requisitions with complete coding for both physical invoices and credit cards.
  • Pursue the coding and uploading of receipts and requisitions.
  • Process accounts payable.
  • Manage the processing of monthly missionary gifts.
  • Scan and upload documents to the Google Drive.
  • Handle weekly tasks including count sheets, backups, payables, and journal entries.
  • Perform monthly reconciliations.
  • Maintain workroom equipment, including copiers, cutters, and postage machines.
  • Manage petty cash for the office, Olathe Coffee Bar, and LifeMission Youth.
  • Deposit funds at the bank.
  • Count cash and checks in collaboration with volunteers.
  • Maintain weekly sales tax records and process monthly sales tax payments.
  • Track and record weekly statistics (attendance, giving, salvations, etc.).
  •  Provide reception coverage as needed.
  • Upload financial data into accounting software.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in Excel and Google Sheets.
  •  Assist in keeping the church database up to date.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

General Skills & Qualifications:
  • Strong time-management and multi-tasking abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, with the aptitude to use current software and systems for data entry and processing.
  • Ability to see projects through to completion.
  • Financially and mathematically minded.

  • Occasionally lift and move up to 10 lbs, and occasionally up to 25 lbs.
